Simulating authentic events for training and development is nothing new however with the advent of new technologies over the years the ability to create different types with diverse experiences has grown exponentially.

However, there are fundamentals that remain consistent as we strive to not only make simulations engaging but also, and more importantly, effective tools for learning.

Join us this week as we explore simulations; the techniques and technologies that fuel one of the most powerful training approaches we have as learning professionals.

Prospective questions:

Q1. Branching scenarios and simulations can appear similar. Where do you see the differences between the two. #GuildChat
Q2. When does it make sense to use simulations?#GuildChat
Q3.How do you get enough information to build a simulation that feels real to users? #GuildChat
Q4. Do simulations have to be exact replicas of real life? Why or why not.#GuildChat
Q5. What tools and resources do you find useful for creating simulations? #GuildChat
Q6. How can you create authentic evaluations within simulations? #GuildChat
Q7. What are some of the considerations when it comes to designing effective feedback in simulations (frequency, detail, directness, etc) #GuildChat
Q8. What’s one of the best simulations you’ve ever experienced? What made it work well for you? #GuildChat
