You asked for it in the last GuildChat and we heard you loud and clear: let’s chat about games! These two tweets from that chat sum up the concept perfectly.

Tweet from @kelrehbiel. "There's a lot of overlap between what our industry does for our audiences and what game designers do for theirs. The difference is they're doing it for entertainment. I'm always dissecting their work to see how I can improve mine.

Tweet from @kgq962. I'm a big believer that we L&D folks can learn a lot from game design to improve the learning experiences we create.

So in this week’s #GuildChat we’re going to discuss what we can learn from the world of game design. How can we make experiences that grip people’s attention? What makes a good tutorial for building new skills? How do you find a good difficulty balance? How can we keep the people we’re creating things for at the center of what we do? And, most importantly, how does all this help you justify buying a bunch of new games and calling it “work research.”

Chat questions coming soon!
