Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, April 26th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is The Digital Transformation of Learning.
Digital Transformation is quite the buzz today. It has many definitions but generally it’s seen as the effort by mostly large companies to increase efficiencies and get closer to consumers through digital technologies. What does this effort mean for organizational learning?
L&D is directed by the needs of the organizations it serves and will move as the business moves. As the world of work transforms to greater efficiencies and connections, what will be the role of organizational learning? Similarly, as business transforms through technology, in what ways will of has L&D mirrored the changes taking place and what will future evolution look like for organizational learning?
Join us this week as we look closer at digital transformation and its impact on L&D.
Q1 The term “digital transformation” can be seen as a bit of a buzzword. Once you go past the buzz, though, what do you see it as really meaning?
Q2 Is the idea of digital transformation sort of inevitable or is it something that has to be actively pursued in order to have happen?
Q3 What are the challenges businesses face in trying to transform? Do we see the same in L&D? Why or why not?
Q4 If an organization would benefit from going more digital with aspects of L&D but is hesitant, what are some baby steps that might help them get more comfortable with the idea?
Q5 Between when you started in L&D to now, what are some of the ways you’ve seen digital transformation shift the work you do?
Q6 As L&D evolves, what are the best ways to move its own people forward?
Q7 Are there aspects of what we do in L&D that will stay constant, regardless of how digital or analog the systems we operate in are? Why or why not?
Q8 Which technologies do you think are poised to bring the greatest change to L&D? How so?
