The Ultimate List of Content Curation Tools and Platforms by Scott Scanlon
If you are curious about curation as a tool for learning and want to explore it in practice, check out this comprehensive list of tools that can be used for curation. In addition to exploring how the tools themselves work, many of the sites have examples of the tools being used by others. Seeing how others use tools for curation is a great way to better understand what curation is for yourself.

Video is the future of learning for charities by Martin Baker
Video is rapidly growing as a medium for learning. This post explores that from the perspective of a single sector: Charities. I also share it for the context in which the article is shared. It comes from the Guardoan, and is an article appealing to leaders of the volunteer and charity sectors. In other words, the article is positioned not to learning leaders, but to those that lead the learning leaders.

Why Don’t I Hear about More xAPI Adoption? by Mike Rustici
The Experience API has been emerging in our industry for a number of years. In the work we do for conferences, we’ve shifted many of our xAPI sessions from ones that explain it to ones that show it in practice. Even though xAPI has been around for a while, those stories aren’t as common as you might expect, and that’s actually perfectly normal. Implementing a strategy that leverages xAPI and related technologies takes time. This post explains such a timeline, providing much-needed context around the possible perception that there has been slow growth in xAPI use cases.

Take Photos of Stove Dials Before You Leave for Vacation by Nicole Diekerby
It’s not often that I see something so simple as being so brilliant, but this idea qualifies. It’s worth sharing for the idea alone, but I share it here specifically for the points about habits and how our ability to recall things changes when out of traditional context.
But seriously… I love this idea and will be using it from now on when I travel.

Google Glass 2.0 Is a Startling Second Act by Steven Levy
I remember the first time I heard the word “Glasshole”. I was one of the early users of Google Glass and was thrilled by the opportunity to participate in the Explorer program. Many saw that program as a failure, but I never did. I saw it as what it was – an experiment. And the experiment was successful in that it verified that the consumer world was not yet ready for a Glass-like AR device. But what didn’t work in the consumer market worked very well in some professional environments, and Google took notice. As this article explores, Glass didn’t disappear, it just pivoted to wear it solved a problem.

Building an elearning team isn’t easy. There are a number of factors to consider, and a number of approaches that can be considered. That’s why I like to read posts from people that have lived in that world and come out the other side stronger. This is one of those posts, and it contains a number of great tips for people building and managing elearning development teams.
