#GuildChat for 05/20/16: Encouraging your Peers to Engage with the Learning Community

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, May 20 at 11AM PT/2PM ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is Encouraging your peers to engage with the learning community.

It’s a common conversation these days that change is happening more rapidly than ever and the learning field, in addition to new business changes, has a slew of technology changes to keep up with as well.  Today we have the ability to engage our industry and our peers in a multitude of ways, be it at industry events, local and virtual networking opportunities and of course social media. Yet many do not take advantage of the opportunity or are still unaware of the opportunities to deepen their understanding and contribute to the greater good buy sharing their knowledge and expertise.

Convincing our peers to engage more and at various levels is for the common good but why we need to convince and how we do it takes many forms.  In this week’s GuildChat we look to the community to learn how we can help others in our field grow their networks, take advantage of the broader community of learning professions and contribute beyond the benefit of the organizations in which they work.

The eLearning Guild has always looked to the community to form the conversations around learning and technology. We’ve taken it a step further however and created a rotating group of  voluntary #GuildChat Advisors! Each Advisor is selected for their unique perspectives and involvement in the the conversations around the learning industry.
