#GuildChat for 09/04/20: Whatcha Readin’?

#GuildChat returns to Twitter this Friday, September 4 starting at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic is good books and why, where, what, and how we’re reading these days.

As summer comes to a close here in the States we thought it’d be a good time to reflect on what we’ve been reading and what might be queued up for the fall. In addition, we’ll explore our favorite genres, preferred book types, as well (of course) what we’ve been learning and applying in our work.

Ponder what you’re reading, have read, and look forward to and join us THIS Friday to discuss with the community!

Prospective questions:

Q1 What is your process for identifying and ultimately selecting a book?

Q2 What book did you last read that provided you a new career/project/task insight? What was the insight you took away from it?

Q3 In times of stress do you have any comfort reads? Genres, authors, or even specific books that just help you feel better then you read them?

Q4 What non-fiction books from outside the field you work in do you gravitate towards? Why?

Q5 Audio, ebook, or paper? Which one and why?

Q6 Do you engage in book club activities? Why or why not? Pros and cons?

Q7 What books do you have on your to-be-read list that you’re hoping to get to soon?

Q8 Let’s say you could gift a book to everyone here at GuildChat today – maybe something related to L&D or maybe something not related to work that you think we’d all enjoy. What book would you pick and why?
