#GuildChat for 06/15/18: The Use and Value of Feedback

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, June 15th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is  the use and value of feedback.

Feedback is critical in all learning situations, even non-social ones such as operant conditioning (place your hand on a hot stove, recoil from the painful sensation. Your body gave you feedback). Yet feedback in and of itself isn’t always widely used, used correctly or in the right amounts.

Interesting too, what we perceive as positive feedback can work against improving performance. See the summary of an interesting study on surgical training using clickers (yes, animal training devices!) here.

In this week’s #GuildChat we explore the uses and value of feedback in learning. From face-to-face, elearning to system feedback, we’ll breakdown how feedback is being used, what’s working and where we need to make improvements to bring about better learning and ultimately better performance.

Prospective questions coming soon!
