#GuildChat for 11/03/17: Applying Event Learning

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, November 3rd at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is on Applying Event Learning.GuildChat_Logo

We just wrapped up the DevLearn conference in Vegas which got us to thinking about all the new ideas and approaches as well as technologies attendees encountered throughout the week. How do you take these and make them actionable? Where do you begin and when?

Join us this week as we share our collective ideas and tips regarding applying post-event learning back into our real worlds of work.

 Prospective question:

Q1. What steps do you take to start making ideas and solutions from an event come to life in your own work/organization?

Q2. What are the most common barriers you’ve seen in the way of taking event ideas/solutions and applying them back at work?

Q3. What tips do you have on helping managers/stakeholders see the value in a solution you discovered at an event?

Q4. It’s not uncommon for all the inspiration and creative energy you got from an event to fizzle out when you get back to work. How can you prevent that?

Q5. What are some good ways to share what you learned at an event with your colleagues who weren’t there?

Q6. When an event inspires new ideas/approaches, what are some ways you’ve build buy-in from your team members who weren’t there with you?

Q7. How can you tell if an idea or technology you fell in love with at an event actually works in the context of your organization?

Q8. When you discover a new approach/tool/solution at an event, what ways do you use to keep learning more about it afterward?
