#GuildChat for 10/6/17: Learning Technologies: Which Will Stay, Go and Which Will Grow?

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, October 6 at 11AM PT/2PM ET. This week’s topic is Which Learning Technologies Will Stay, Go and Which Will Grow?

Technology changes fast and this speed of change impacts those used by learning professionals just as much as the consumer market.

Authorware, Flash and Second Life come to mind as some of the pioneering technologies that faded from glory or simply became obsolete. As we look at the current learning technology landscape we see extinction and evolution each year with new ones appear and some just on the horizon.  Given this rapid change and the impact it can have on your solutions, how does a learning professional make smart decisions, anticipate when the shift is happening and identify what’s next?

Join us this week as we look at those technologies teetering and those demonstrating amazing resilience in the marketplace as we discuss what’s been and what’s next for learning technologies

Prospective questions:

Q1. What new technologies are you most excited about right now? What makes them so appealing to you?
Q2. How do you keep on top of what new technologies are emerging or evolving?
Q3. What technologies have you seen shift and evolve over time in how L&D uses them?
Q4. What up-and-coming technologies do you expect to see grow in how L&D uses them over the next 5 years?
Q5. What technologies do you think L&D is too slow to adopt right now? Why is that?
Q6. Which tools/technologies should be on the “endangered species” list? Why?
Q7. What obsolete technology/tool or feature do you sometimes miss?
