#GuildChat for 05/19/17: What’s Old is New Again

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, May 19th at 11AM PT/2PM ET. This week’s topic is What’s Old is New Again.

Old tools don’t die they just get re-purposed again and again. As the world of learning continually chases what’s new, what’s next and what’s “wow!”, there are the technologies that have stood the test of time and continue to resurface as value added in solutions and strategies.

Email and even SMS text have found new success in “learning campaigns” and Audacity and ClipArt are quick go too’s still when a small audio edit needs to be made or an image of a simple arrow will do. Excel is still the project manager tool of choice and even the overhead projector… ok, not the overhead projector.

Anyway, we tend to fall back on or just stick to what has always worked for us or our organizations time and time again in the face of almost daily, shiny new tools and technologies appearing. In this week’s Guild Chat we expose the reality of our personal tried and true. We share what’s working still and maybe the psychology of why we stay with our old tech friends, and how we are weaving the old with the new to create dynamic learning solutions.

Prospective question:
