#GuildChat for 8/09/19: Creativity in L&D

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, August 9th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is on Creativity in L&D.

We’ve touched on creativity and the creative process in past #GuildChats but we revisit it this week to specifically look at creativity through the lens of L&D work and not just the artistic side of it. We’ll explore what we’ve seen, done and what we see separates creativity from innovation. Additionally, we’ll examine where and when creativity strikes and recognizing when you just got to stop being creative and get the ideas to work!

Join us this week with your own stories and ideas to share. It’s a chat after all and we invite the community to engage in the conversation to learn more, meet new people and build a stronger network!

Prospective questions:

Q1 What’s the most creative thing you’ve seen this week?
Q2 What was one of the most creative solutions you’ve come up with or have seen in L&D?
Q3 What makes something creative vs. innovative or just kind of cool?
Q4 When do you come up with creative ideas? Is there a certain time or “place” you have to be in?
Q5 Some people just seem more naturally creative than others. What do you attribute this too?
Q6 Creativity doesn’t just have to be related to the arts. What are some aspects of the work we do in L&D that someone might not initially think of as needing creativity but actually do?
Q7 How can restraints or guidelines actually help with creative thought?
Q8 When you’re working with partners, clients, or team members who are hesitant about new approaches, what can you do to help them be more comfortable with creative new solutions?
