#GuildChat for 05/18/18: The Evolution of Instructional Design

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, May 18th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is  the evolution of instructional design and it’s the final chat in our series of discussions exploring themes from Learning Solutions 2018 panels.

While it’s true that instructional design has played a key role in L&D over the years, the specifics of that role have shifted over time. Innovations in technology, approaches, and even organizations themselves have meant that instructional design has had to adapt, albeit with varying success, to stay relevant. So what does that mean for the work we do today in L&D and how that work will continue to evolve over time?

Join us this week as we discuss the latest iteration of instructional design practices, how changes in technology and research can alter what successful instructional design looks like, and what future challenges instructional design needs begin preparing to adapt to now.
