#GuildChat for 12/8/17: Learning’s Biggest Pain Points

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, December 8th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is on Our Industry’s Biggest Pain Points.

Anyone who has ever seen the classic sitcom “Seinfeld” will recall the comical fictitious holiday Festivius: the festival for the rest of us that arrived on Dec 23rd. One of the tenets of this faux holiday was the airing of grievances when people shared their disappointments.

Taking a page from this episode, we take an hour this week to look across the learning industry for those grievances we have within organizational learning. What are the specific challenges that come up continually, repeatedly that we struggle to resolve each year. Working with SME’s? Meeting executive expectations AND learner needs? Moving classroom training successful to a new solution/approach? or maybe it’s how to convince people that a performance support is better than a training course?

Ponder your day-to-day, the technology you use, the strategies and relationships you maintain and the beliefs you hold that challenge those of others. Let’s air out our industry grievances and work as a community to share ideas and solutions to our common and continual challenges.
