The eLearning Guild Podcast: Scott Dadich on Designing the Future

Welcome to The eLearning Guild Podcast, where we chat with members of the Guild Community exploring current trends in learning, performance, and technology.

Picture1In this episode I chat with Scott Dadich, Editor-in-Chief at WIRED Magazine. Scott is the opening keynote at the 2016 FocusOn Learning Conference and Expo taking place June 8-10 in Austin, Texas. In our conversation, we discuss how technology is transforming the way we live, how design itself is changing in an increasingly digital world, and how storytelling is evolving via new devices and content mediums.

Here are a few highlights from our conversation:

If someone tells you they know what’s going to happen tomorrow they’re most likely not telling the truth.

[vehcle autonomy] means more hours in our day to do then concentrate on a commute or concentrate on driving. So that’s freeing up, or has the potential to free up whole new swaths of our day  to think about other activities, and certainly education, training, and career development could be one of them.

Virtual reality as a platform is starting to mature very quickly.

The arrival of wide scale availability of high bandwidth for video is something that’s really exciting for us. We’ve almost tripled the size of our video journalism team.
