In this episode I chat with Rocket Scientist and explorer Natalie Panek. Natalie is a mission systems engineer at MDA Robotics and Automation, a vocal advocate for women in technology, and was recently named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. She is also one of our featured keynote speakers at the 2015 DevLearn Conference and Expo taking place September 30th through October 2nd in Las Vegas, where she’ll be exploring the importance of Learning without Boundaries.

Here are a few highlights from our conversation:

It’s not always exploration in the most literal sense of the word, such as me going out on my adventures to remote locations, but it’s about being an everyday world explorer.

I think we need to start bridging that connection between scientists that are doing innovative work and everyday science and everyday curiosity of people around the world.

Working outside your comfort zone is the first step to innovation.

A key part of [getting young women engaged in tech] for me is having more female role models who are working in science and tech fields being accessible to the next generation of young women.
