Join Us Online (and in Las Vegas) for One of Four Blended Intensives

The eLearning Guild Academy is offering four 4-week blended (i.e., online + in-person) courses with the in-person component taking place on October 25 and 26 (before the start of DevLearn 2014) at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Each one of these four programs use a flipped learning approach with online synchronous sessions and asynchronous activities preceding the in-person gathering. The flipped learning approach allows our instructors to use a variety of learning modes to support both group work and individual work.

The online synchronous sessions provide a way to develop conceptual understanding of the topic while also providing opportunities for exploration. The two-day in-person sessions are more active in nature with the instructor providing guidance and feedback. For this reason, class sizes are small.

The spacing effect comes into play here meaning longer term retention is much better when the instruction is spread over time.

haskin-steve_205Video Production for eLearning starts October 6.  You do not need to have experience in video production for this class but a working knowledge of cameras and adult learning is helpful. The instructor is Stephen Haskin, Principal at Industrial Strength Learning, and, based on his last session, you are guaranteed to have fun and walk away with some practical skills to apply immediately! Listen to what some of the participants in the Spring 2014 class had to say:

bissette-tracy_205 Project Leadership for Instructional Designers starts on October 8.  This course is for instructional designers looking to advance their skills and knowledge about the business elements of instructional design so they can become more valuable to their internal or external clients. The instructor for this course is Tracy Bissette of Weejee Learning. Previous students in the online version of this course loved Tracy’s templates and knowledge of business practices. She’s passionate about the topic and that was reflected in the interactions among learners.

hyder-chambers-olson_205The Virtual Classroom Bootcamp for Trainers is led by three seasoned, professional virtual classroom trainers who consistently receive exceptional feedback from students.

“When I was deciding what courses to take, I found the eLearning Guild was more concerned and willing to work with students. This was something that appeared to be missing with other similar offerings. The instructors made an investment in the success of the students and I’ve benefited. I am new to VILT and the instructors have helped me “walk the talk” by build both a professional overview of VILT while simultaneously dealing with the many details and their interconnections.” Gary Monti, PMP, Center for Managing Change

It starts October 9. If  you want to help your organization become more effective at delivering engaging and efficient online training that sticks then this is for you. No prerequisites are required for this bootcamp but it is helpful to have basic online event and/or virtual classroom experience.

gottfredson-stroud_205Instructional Design: The A.G.I.L.E. Approach is led by performance support guru Conrad Gottfredson along with Carol Stroud. If your instructional design deliverables include performance-based outcomes, this course will help you become faster, leaner, and more effective at both instructional design and on-the-job support. Here’s a sampling of answers from participants when asked what the top two things they got out of this course:

A better way to plan projects.

A new way to look at analysis and design.

Encouragement by others to try to break the current paradigm.

Practical tools that I can use immediately to begin adopting A.G.I.L.E. in the workplace.

An overall sense of control when using the process (it is adaptable).

Most valuable were the methods presented and the examples that support them.

We hope you can find a course that interests you and look forward to seeing you online and in Las Vegas. Any questions about these courses can be sent to academy@elearningguild.com.
