What I Love About #DevLearn: Joe Ganci

Ganci_Joe_newTo help celebrate the 10th Annual DevLearn Conference and Expo, we’ve invited members of the Guild community to share what they love about DevLearn, and why they return to the conference year after year.

Today we welcome Joe Ganci, President of eLearning Joe and one of our Guild Masters as he shares his thoughts about the DevLearn.

There are so many elements of DevLearn that I love!

First and foremost, it’s a developer’s conference. Yes, it covers design and every other aspect of eLearning, but its main focus is on development tools, and that’s where my main career passion lies. It helps newcomers come up to speed quickly and gives those of us who have been developing eLearning forever great new viewpoints.

Second, the caliber and friendliness of the attendees and speakers is unmatched. Everyone is approachable. Anyone who arrives not knowing anyone leaves having made several new friends with whom they have a lot in common. For those who have come to DevLearn before, it’s like a homecoming, where longtime friends and colleagues can gather and celebrate while inviting all newcomers into the fold.

Third, my mind is always chock full of new, innovative ideas when I leave DevLearn. I love sharing my ideas with others and I love it when others share theirs with mine. In fact, newcomers sometimes bring such a fresh perspective that I often seek them out to tap their brains!

Fourth, when I teach and present, I receive such gratitude and appreciation from attendees for what I have shared with them, I can’t help but feel a natural high.

As someone who uses eLearning tools, writes about them, and teaches them, this is important to me. Hint: sometimes if you bring them cookies, they’ll give you some tips that may save you lots of time!

I could go on and on but I’ll stop there. I can’t wait for DevLearn again!
