TWIST Conversation: Mark Lassoff on Using HTML5 for Mobile Development

Welcome to TWIST Conversations, where we chat with members of the Guild Community exploring current trends in learning, performance, and technology.

CaptureIn this episode of TWIST Conversations I chat with Mark Lassoff of LearntoProgram.tv. We talk about the benefits HTML5 provides to elearning developers, when using HTML5 is (or isn’t) appropriate, and how accessible HTML5 is to developers that are new to coding.

Here are a few highlights from the conversation:

The first benefit of HTML5 is it’s interoperability between platforms.

Another benefit of HTML5 is that it’s actually very easy to learn; it’s a markup language, not a programming language.

HTML5 is appropriate first, if you need to reach a number of different people on different platforms.

When you code natively … you take control of your content. You get to decide what you can and can’t do.

To learn more about how to harness the power of HTML5 for mobile learning, be sure to check out Mark’s pre-conference workshop at this year’s mLearnCon Conference and Expo.

If you have a speaker or topic that you would like to see featured in a future episode of TWIST Conversations, please let me know.
